{ weekend } The Great Outdoors & Halloween Shopping

Día de los Muertos
Bonjour!  The great outdoors is calling me with this phenomenal weather.  Nature has many health benefits of its own and all you have to do to reap them is get outside and enjoy the green nature around you.

I enjoyed my first day off in since October 3rd.  Ah, Saturday... has to be my favorite day of the week.  I slept in for the first time in a while.  After trying to get rid of my caffeine withdraw with homemade brew, we headed to Einstein's for a bite to eat and took a short drive to Philippe Park to enjoy the scenery and fresh air. The park is peaceful until screaming kids go by, but I like the Indian Mound, water views and basking in the sunshine.

After breakfast we took Roxy home and ventured out to do some Halloween shopping... starting with Goodwill and Salvation Army, then to the House of Make Believe (my favorite costume store ever) and a few other random stops.  So far I have makeup, one accessory and a head brimming with ideas for a costume gone wild with imagination.  Stay tuned...

{ weekend } Sister Time

Bonjour!  I'm a bit late on my weekend blog entry.  My sister is here!  Was too busy on Sunday hanging with Abbie to get it done.  After I scooped her from the airport, we went food shopping with my Groupon at the Village Health Market in South Tampa.  I'd never heard of the place, but figured why not when I saw their Groupon since it was a health food store.   The place was really larger than I expected with a huge vitamin/supplement/herb department, hot and cold prepared foods, salad bar, and all the regular natural food store supplies.  Great place, wish I found when I was actually living in Tampa.

Saturday's Eats

Brekkie

Green Smoothie:
  • 1 cup frozen mango, blueberries and raspberries
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 cups fresh organic herb greens mix

Plus Organic Applesauce and a Toasted WW English Muffin with Peanut Butter.

Lunch

Jason's Deli Garden Veggie Wrap with Steamed Veggies.

 Found my new favorite!

And a few sips of this Chick-fil-a Lemonade.

Dinner

Ranch Turkey Burger on WW English Muffin with Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb and Organic Tomatoes.

And a Beach Bum Beer.

Roasted Almond Chocolate... so yum!

Body Care
Exercise: After lunch Abbie and I went to Enterprise Dog Park with Dog to get some exercise.  We warmed up with Primary Back Stretch first, and used T-Tapp walking techniques on the trails in the park.  It sprinkled a little on us and was still pretty hot, so we only made a few laps. Oh, and we did 10 Triceps Dips on the bench twice.

My sister is here all week, but traveling north to see my mom for a few days.   We have plans for a dinner and drinks out with my dad on Thursday in Dunedin... Cafe Al Fresco and Dunedin Brewery!  And Marcel is playing acoustic songs on Friday at O'Houston's in Largo and I plan to get everyone together for Abbie's last night here. Should be a fun week with Abbie in town. ♥

More Roxy, Please

Today's Workout:

T-Tapp MORE + body brushing.

Today's Food Log:

Brekkie

Oatmeal with Coconut, Cranberries, Almonds, Original Almond Breeze and Organic Maple Syrup, Coffee with Original Almond Breeze/a little sugar.

Lunch

Rotisserie Chicken Asian Salad.

Publix just launched Publix Premium Salad Kits. I got the Makoto Honey Ginger mix with Romaine and Green Leaf lettuces, Dried Pineapple, Honey Roasted Soy Nuts with Makoto Honey Ginger Dressing. Pretty awesome for $3!

Coffee Break

I had a free tall brewed coffee from Starbucks with lots of cream and NO sugar around 3-something pm.

Literally drank about 1/4 of this cup, then recycled the wrap.

This did NOT make me feel better. Started feeling really anxious, jittery and rushed. Think my body needs a coffee break, I mean break from coffee.

Dinner

Repeat of my lunch with added organic romaine, carrots and cabbage.

I ate about 1/2 before I felt full, and stopped there.

This is Roxy's "Come on, Mom. Play with me!" look.

Today's Supplements:

Alfalfa: 8 caps
B-12 Plus: 4 sprays
Cellfood: 8 drops
Fibertox: 2 caps
Emergen-C: 1 packet
Jus: 1 ounce
nutraMetrix® Isotonix® Calcium Complete: 2 servings
nutraMetrix® Glucosatrin® Bone & Joint Formula: 3 caps

I drank about 2 liters of water today...

Puppy Day!

Guess who's at work today... Roxy!

She climbed into her carrier and gave me that "I'm coming with you today, Mom!" look. Of course I couldn't resist. She makes a great lap warmer.

Today's Workout:

2 sets of Hoe Downs after lunch.

Shoulder rolls and T-Tapp Stance throughout the day.

Primary Back Stretch and body brushing this evening.

I've been pretty sore and achy today. Looking forward to my massage and workout in the morning!

Today's Food Log:

Brekkie

Oatmeal with Vanilla Almond Breeze, Organic Gala Apple, Sliced Almonds, Cinnamon, Organic Maple Syrup and Organic Flax.

Snack

Ate the rest of my Organic Gala Apple from brekkie.

Lunch

Had a repeat of last night's dinner, but ate the dishes separately.

Snack

I ate a few more Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives and a Boiled Egg with sea salt before dinner.

Ran out to do a few errands before dark and was starving by the time I got home!

Dinner

We made an old time favorite - organic ranch turkey burgers!

Some crispy sweet potato fries!

Oh, and a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat!

Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity.

After dinner I gave puppy a wash and blow dry. She's fluffy and clean now.

Today's Supplements:

Alfalfa: 6 caps
Emergen-C: 1 packet
Jus: 1 ounce
nutraMetrix® Isotonix® Calcium Complete: 2 servings
