Progress Report + 40-Day Game Plan

This morning I decided to take progress photos and measurements. *gasp!*

As you can see, not much really changed.  I take that as a good thing because I did eat a lot of treats over the past month and my workouts weren't as consistent or long as they should have been.  I was able to maintain my size and not gain more than a quarter inch!

Accidental shot!
However, I know I can do better than this and will be getting serious about my fitness this month.  Need to step it up to be in the best shape of my life when I turn 30 in January (and be strong for the Retreat in October).  Overall I'm happy with my body, but would like to burn off a few more inches from my hips and thighs, as always.  (Because of my body type - Long Torso/Short Leg - those are the first place the inches come back!)

I plan on taking progress pictures and measurements on the 1st of each month from now on.  You'll see my first update with comparison photos on October 1st.  I took these myself with a timer and no makeup on.  T-Tappers who have participated in any T-Tapp challenge understand the progress pictures.  Yes, they are daunting.  I don't really want to know what my backside looks like, but now that I do... let me tell you, it's a motivator!

I'm going to do a 40 day game plan with a spreadsheet to keep me accountable.  It helps if I have something to check off, like with T'appy Holidays.

{ click image to enlarge }
The Annual T-Tapp Fitness Retreat starts on October 7th.  For the last 3 days of the challenge I will be working out sporadically when I can squeeze it in at the event.

During this plan I'm going to focus on:
  • Doing a full workout (30+ minutes) every other day
  • Doing a mini workout, or at least a few moves, on the days in between
  • Body brushing twice a day (morning and evening)
  • Magnesium Oil foot soaks (about 20 minutes) for 10 days straight, then every other day
  • Sea salt baths (about 20 minutes) for 5 days straight, then every other day
  • Daily supplements - the ones listed here make such a difference for me! Alfalfa: 6 caps, B-12 Plus: 8 sprays, Cellfood: 8 drops, Immune Boost: 1 dropper, Pyruvyl Glycine: 12 sprays, Vitamin D3: 8 sprays
  • Drinking at least 8, 8 oz glasses of water a day.  Hydration is SO important!
  • In addition I'm still wanting to work on Spa Days @ Home, Eat Stop Eat, practicing EFT daily and a trip to the sauna every Wednesday (except today because of the Tears for Fears concert tonight). See this post for details.

Wish me luck, friends.  And stay tuned for updates!

{ weekend } Relaxing + Hair Do

Pretty much slacked off all weekend and didn't get many of my healthy habits accomplished.  Not good!  This week the astrologers are saying that right now it's really easy to slip back into old habits.  That's what I did this weekend... sweets, carbs and alcohol, oh my.  I drank more beer on Saturday that I have in the past month (only 4 bottles).  I also ate breakfast and then proceeded to take a nap from 10am to 1pm. Wow!  At least I did a mag oil foot soak and body brushing.

On Sunday I had another hair style photo shoot with Kristy for the KMS challenge.  We had fun doing an up do and makeup!  We did a few outfit and accessory changes too.

See the braid on the right side of my head.
More pictures coming once Kristy emails them to me!

Friday's Eats

Brekkie

Strawberry, Banana, Cucumber, Almond Butter Smoothie.

Lunch

Crispers Small Salad with leftover Wild Sockeye Salmon and a little Ranch dressing.

Dinner

Whole Wheat Pasta with Scallops and Parmesan Cheese, plus Steamed Broccoli (not shown).

Dessert

Guess that wine and chocolate should have made it on the blog too.

Saturday's Eats

Brekkie

Organic Batter Blaster Pancakes (not better than my own recipe) with 100% Organic Maple Syrup, Maple Bacon, Scrambled Eggs with Organic Romaine and Tomato Salad with Cheddar.

Dessert

The rest of the chocolate bar.

Also had a bowl of Cocoa Pebbles with Original Almond Breeze.

Sweetness of Sustainability

{ Caylee & Roxy with super tongue! }

So many fun photos, so little time!  In serious need of a laptop makeover over here... editing photos takes f-o-r-e-v-a!!!

That has to be the craziest Roxy photo this week.  This morning Jen stopped by the T-Tapp office with her adorable kids, Conner and Caylee.  Roxy loves any creatures about her size and adored sweet Caylee...and she squealed with delight over the pup.

Previous Caylee posts: Welcome Caylee Dakota! and Caylee's First Day at T-Tapp.

I can't help myself, she is just too cute.

 { Me & Caylee }

That's me half asleep and half way blinking to the double-flash of my camera.  Don't you love her little dress?

{ La & Caylee }

This photo looks like Caylee has sold La on the power of Fibertox!

In other news...
I'm proud to say that I've skipped Starbucks and any coffee this week, for that matter!

It's not that I don't want to drink a latte... it's that I don't need to and I recognize that.  IMO the benefits of skipping it outweigh picking up the expensive habit and having to detox all over again.  I'm giving myself a pat on the back for this one. Will take it one week at a time and focus on why I'm initiating this change in the first place.

Eats

Brekkie

1 Scrambled Egg with BVI Seasoning and 1/2 a Florida Ruby Red Grapefruit.

Later in the morning... Whole Banana with Organic PB.

Lunch

Finished off about 1/2 of this salad.  I missed the tomatoes and olives!

Snack

Single Serving Granola.

Dinner

I'm also proud of the dinner I made tonight. 100% organic and sustainable!

Fresh Wild and Sustainably Harvested Sockeye Salmon was on sale...

I picked up Organic Green Beans and already had some Organic Red Quinoa on hand.

I made a paste with Organic Garlic, Ginger and EVOO, then rubbed it on the top side of the filet.  In the skillet I added a splash of OJ, Organic Soy Saunce and Organic Green Onions.  Placed the filet face down and cooked for about 10 minutes.  It turned out juicy and with amazing flavor!

Delish!  And I have more for tomorrow... might have to stock up on this while it's on sale.

Oh, and I can't forget the wine!  Trinity Oaks Pinot Noir ...

I bought a bottle of wine and planted a tree at the same time.  How cool is that?

I feel incredible after that amazing meal!

Healthy Habits

Nourishment
Fruits: 2 servings
Veggies: 4 servings
Water: 60 oz of my Lifefactory bottle!

Body Care
Body Brushing & Magnesium Oil: check!
Exercise: Primary Back Stretch and Hoe Downs.

I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day.  I'm going to have to start my early bird routine again!  Must get in a morning workout... looking forward to it, actually.  I plan on waking up with a smile and energy to stretch and move my body in preparation for a Fabulous Friday.

Supplements
Alfalfa: 6 caps
B-12 Plus: 4 sprays
Vitamin D3: 8 sprays

Off to enjoy the rest of my evening...

Au revoir!

Updates from the Moving Maven

Well friends... it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post. What can I say? Life has been busy, busy, busy! I got a new apartment in the Water... Clearwater, Florida that is. Have been moving my stuff out of my Dad's (weekend before last) and for the past week been moving out of storage (very slowly). Finished up the last of the moving Sunday evening (um, just last night). I'm exhausted! Now it's all about unpacking, organizing and cleaning once again. The boxes are stacked so high I can't walk into my living room at this point. I have my work cut out for me! I guess you could call me the Moving Maven!

Pluses and ups of the new apartment:
  • Tile throughout, except the bedroom
  • Huge walk-in closet, linen closet and pantry
  • Glass-top self-cleaning oven
  • Open kitchen
  • Free AC filters each month
  • Dog walk area right outside my door, plus a little dog park on the property
  • One building away from pool and laundry areas
  • Less than 10 minute drive from the office
  • Central Pinellas County location (can get to Tampa, St. Pete or Clearwater Beach in 20-30 minutes)
Now for the bad things...
  • Upper kitchen cabinets are really dirty on the inside and made from nasty toxic fiberboard (lower cabinets are not) so there's a lack of storage in the kitchen. I'm not about to put clean dishes or food in those cabinets! Don't know what to do or if they can be "fixed". Maintenance already came out and apparently sprayed the insides with bleach, but it hasn't done anything to the smell. Even if they were lined they would still give off toxic fumes. It's just not a sanitary place to keep stuff I plan on putting near my face. Very disheartening considering mostly everything else is awesome!
  • Hot and cold are switched on the kitchen sink so I repeatedly burn myself. Ugh.
  • Parking is not great, at all. They're working on getting assigned parking, but for now it's a free for all and can be limiting.
  • There's only one way in and one way out of the complex. It's like a big circle with one way drive all the way around.

My healthy habits have been seriously lacking. I can't wait to get back into my healthy routine. Feel like I've gained a few inches here and there due to all that's been going on in the past month or so. I'm still kind of eating like I'm on vacation... living on Starbucks and take out due to not having my kitchen supplies (until now). I'm in a 60-Day Challenge and really feel like I should start over. Once I clear some space to exercise I'm planning on doing a 4 to 7 day boot camp with Tempo 2. Should make my back feel better too. I had to get a chiropractic adjustment last Monday and it really took a lot out of me. I went 5 months without an adjustment! I need to get back on track, for real.

My blog has a new look! Blogger just launched a new template designer and I absolutely LOVE it. So easy to use... and cute!

I've taken so many photos! Over 800 images in little less than a month. At this point I'm thinking it would be overkill to go back and do my daily posts for the blog. Seriously, you'd be reading for days. However, I will be posting a vacation recap of the road trip. Oh, I almost forgot... I took a vacation from my vacation two weekends ago. We got a room at a dog-friendly bed and breakfast on Madeira Beach. It was so relaxing and literally a 30 second walk from the beach itself. I got lots of sun and almost have my bronze back.

Will be doing a daily recap of today's eats this evening... stay tuned.

French Facination

I am gushing over the
Hungry Yogini's blog right now. She's studying in Paris and her photos are absolutely amazing.

I've been fascinated with all things French
for a few years now. It all started with my puppy Roxy, who is a Papillon (means "butterfly" in French). Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV had Papillons! My grandmother was also from French decedent. I got into watching French films and love them because of the artsy feel and sound of the language. The architecture and culture are intriguing.

One of my life dreams is to vacation in France, see the lavender fields in the countryside and spend time soaking up Paris. A goals for this year is to learn French. Rosetta Stone here I come!

So I'm sort of living vicariously through the Hungry Yogini right now! Check out her blog, HungryYogini.com, it's awesome.

JOURNAL

Appointments this afternoon and then a T-Tapp photo shoot! I'm modeling some of the apparel tonight so we can get them on the site.

The shoot went very well. I did 2 different scoop neck t-shirts and a sweatshirt. Man, my hair is SO purple!

Modeling is tough. You have no idea what it's like to hold those poses and tweak your head, chin, smile, foot or hand just a little bit. No wonder why models need T-Tapp! It helps to realign their bodies after being twisted into crazy poses.

I'll post the pictures when Dave sends them over.

I didn't get home until late, but managed to make a healthy dinner and watch a little Netflix before passing out.

Catch Up: The Past 3 Days

Saturday, May 23rd - Monday, May 25th

With good intentions I half way filled out my "daily post" for Saturday. The other two days... skipped it. Sometimes it's hard to make time for personal blogging!

Marcel made me breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. He's getting pretty handy in the kitchen (I think my cooking skills are starting to rub off)! On the menu: two eggs over easy, two slices of Arnold's whole grain nutty oat toast with EVOO and garlic powder, fresh spinach, slice of Boar's Head white American cheese. Delicious!

I was pretty tired from staying out late for Marcel's show, but I had fun hanging out with everyone. There was a pretty good turn out and his band rocked it!

Kristy made an appointment for me to get my hair styled and makeup done on Saturday... with photos! Here are my favorites...

(test shot)

Kristy took some more photos that I'll get soon. I have to say that photoshoots are super fun! I've always been the girl that loves to dress up, play with makeup and take crazy pictures. I really should have taken Teresa Tapp up on her offer to model in Miami when I was 18. Modeling would have been so much fun, especially knowing how to keep fit and limber with T-Tapp!

Sunday was pretty much a day of rest. Monday I went into the office for about half a day to catch up on some things before the media-packed week. Then cleaned the apartment when I got home (killed the vacuum cleaner -- again!), got groceries for the week, ate natural hot dogs for dinner (with sauerkraut, spicy mustard and fresh spinach) with Miller High Life beer in honor of Memorial Day and watched Netflix movies.

Off to sleep...
