I remember when The Story of Stuff video and book came out a few years ago. Did you see it? Or read about it? I like educational documentary-type movies that make you more aware about buying products or what you're actually putting into your body and on the planet. Then you can make the choice on your own how to live your life, and how much change to make.
Today I read this email headline: "What are all those chemicals in your shampoo? your lipstick? your aftershave? And what do they have to do with asthma, cancer and learning disabilities?"
It tied in a lot of the things I learned at the Beauty Boot Camp Retreat from Shelly Ballestero and Joan Schrader. Your skin is the largest organ of the body and it absorbs everything that you put on it. The chemicals in the makeup, hair products, lotions, cholrine and flouride in the city tap water or local pool, cleaning solutions, chemicals leached from plastics or aluminum... everything. Most of it is not tested or regulated so we're really experimenting with these everyday products and that may be creating health issues for many of us.
Since skin is also sponge-like, that's why when Skin Saver Salts and essential oil Solutions are made into a masque they create almost instant glow and fabulous looking skin!

Drinking enough pure filtered alkaline water, eating whole foods, exercising regularly, and practicing detox and relaxation methods will help the process of becoming chemical-free and glowing health.
I've been using up the products that I already own and then buying the organic/natural chemical-free version next time. My method seems to be working so far! Shelly told us about a few different makeup lines and products that are healthy options for our next buys. I'm going to do some more research and see what
