Hoe Down Showdown

It's finally Friday!!! I have nothing planned this weekend... and that's kind of nice. Maybe a movie, dinner out, trip to the farmers markets, walk over to the beach to get some sunshine, lunch with a friend, a little shopping... the possibilities are endless! Marcel has band practice on Sunday, which means it's just me and the Rox. I'll definitely get further into Eclipse.

This morning I dropped my mom off at Tampa International. It's sad to see her leave. Mom - I miss you already!!!

When I got home I did my morning workout - Basic Plus Tempo! Make a delicious smoothie and forgot to body brush. Oops!

7:50am: smoothie (frozen banana, fresh blueberries, Whole Foods soy protein powder, Oikos organic vanilla fat free yogurt, original Almond Breeze, ice)

Morning supplements:
Adrenplus 300 (2 caps): yes
Nerve & Osteo Support (3 caps): 1
Priority Women's Complete (8 caps): 2

I tried to keep lunch light for strawberry shortcake...

12:25pm: MorningStar spicy black bean burger, green and orange bell peppers, avocado with sea salt, lowfat mozzarella cheese
12:45pm: strawberry shortcake (slice of French vanilla pound cake, fresh strawberries, whipped cream)

Afternoon supplements:
Alfalfa (6 caps): 3
Nerve & Osteo Support (3 caps): 1
Priority Women's Complete (8 caps): 2
Ribose powder: 1 scoop

After lunch (and dessert) the T-Tapp Staff had a "Hoe Down Showdown". I made it to 6 sets in a row without a break. Talk about cardio! Lauren and I were the last 2 (out of 4) standing and she wanted to keep going (probably because she didn't workout the past 2 days in a row). We're on a mission to make it to 10 sets by next week. Burn baby burn!

Are you wondering what a "Hoe Down" is?

Well, it's not related to country dancing! Or Hannah Montana's song. Growing up in a mid-western, farming community that had annual festivities with square dances, Teresa Tapp, creator of the T-Tapp Workout, thought the knee lifting movements during this exercise were similar to hoedown dances. T-Tapp's Hoe Down exercise is a 3-minute movement that uses the entire body, even left-right brain. It may look easy, but within 3 minutes, all ages and all fitness levels are breathing heavier with increased heart rate, energy as well as clarity of mind. Plus, we've known T-Tappers to do a few sets of Hoe Downs per day and lose inches and clothing sizes!

Try it for yourself...

How many sets can you do?

Afternoon supplements:
Alfalfa (6 caps): 3
Nerve & Osteo Support (3 caps): 1
Priority Women's Complete (8 caps): 2
Water (8 glasses, 8 ounces each): 2 liters

7:15pm: Bahama Breeze - Jerk Chicken Pasta, Breeze Salad, Firecracker Shrimp, 2 light beers

Off to enjoy the evening at home...
