{ weekend } Eating Labor Day

I hope you had a lovely Labor Day weekend. It feels like I ate my way through it!  Lots of carbs -- cereal, granola, pasta, bread -- not enough veggies, only one workout and mostly just relaxed away my days.  Have to say that I don't feel amazing today.  I can tell that I ate too much and I'm not really sure why.  Thought I was getting on track here, but after this weekend... well, it feels like I need to start all over again.  Is it just me, or do we all let it go on the weekends?

Au revoir!

It's Friday!!

Technically, Saturday now...

For some reason this seemed like a really long week to me and I'm excited about this weekend!  Tonight I met up with Lolly and Michael at Lucky's Sports Bar and then we relocated to the 8th Avenue Pub.  That place was packed!!! (Apparently it's the 3rd Friday celebration in Safety Harbor.)

I have no definite plans for tomorrow or Sunday, but I have a long list of things I want and need to do...

Want to do: Go to the beach, the park for a picnic, create art, visit the farmer's market, take a salt bath, watch True Blood Season 2.

Need to do: Food shopping, laundry, recycle, buy a vacuum, drop off donations to Good Will, return clothes, clean my car.

We'll see how much actually gets accomplished in my { weekend } post on Sunday evening.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Eats

Brekkie

Sprouted Cinnamon Raisin Toast with Organic PB.

NOT enough food for me... I was really craving eggs and fruit this morning.  Finally will have a chance to do some serious food shopping this weekend.

Lunch

Leftovers!  Last night's Curry Coconut Chicken with just a little brown rice.

Dinner

More leftovers!  Finished off the rest of my Eggplant Marino from Thursday's lunch.  This dish is still great after a day.  I added some more parm cheese too.

I made chicken tacos for my boyfriend and ended up just eating one with some organic spinach and tomato.

Late Night Eats

1 Shocktop and 3/4 Yuengling.

+ more water!!!

Just got home about 30 minutes ago and I was hungry!  Instead of grabbing that chocolate cereal or ice cream, I heated up some Curry Coconut Chicken and Veggies...

... and I'm so done for the night.

Healthy Habits

Nourishment
Fruits: 0 today... I miss my fruit!
Veggies: 4 servings
Water: 2 liters

Body Care
Body Brushing & Oil Pulling: check!
Magnesium Oil: check!
Exercise: Tempo Lower Body (up to Awesome Legs)...

WOW, amazing workout!  My body needs floor work.  I was so achy pre-workout and felt fabulous by then end.  Decided to stop at Awesome Legs because (1) I was trying to get out of the house to meet up with La and (2) my muscles were quivering and I didn't want my form to get sloppy.  Plus (3) I'd already completed more than 30 minutes of my T-Tapp session... enough to be a full workout day for me.

Supplements... I got some new stuff today!
Alfalfa: 6 caps
B-12 Plus: 8 sprays
Cellfood: 8 drops
Emergen-C: 1 packet
Vitamin D3: 8 sprays

Well, I'm about to catch up on a few shows online and chill out.  Here's to a fantastic weekend!

Boots with a Sundress

I this Stained Glass at Green Springs!

Well, last night was a LATE night.  Yet again I'm recapping the day before.

I did manage to squeeze in a few healthy habits, including a full workout.  SHADOWSELF (my boyfriend's band) played a show at Gasoline Alley last night.  Even though it was a work night, I decided to go show my support and ended up having some fun too.  They rocked it!

Eats

Brekkie

Green Monster with the little bit of produce left in my fridge: 2 cups fresh organic spinach, 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries, 1/2 cup frozen pineapple, 1 cup original Almond Breeze.  Not too filling, but it almost lasted me until lunch.  (Sorry no photo! Just imagine a very, very green frothy drink.)

I also had a glass of hot organic green tea.

Lunch

My lovely mother picked me up and took me out to lunch at the local Green Springs restaurant in Safety Harbor.

This was my first time actually eating in the restaurant since they moved to this location.  BTW, this is an old house turned eatery and it is absolutely adorable inside!  Check out that stained glass image above. Beautiful!

I ordered the Grilled Mahi-Mahi Sandwich. Yum!

And we finished off our meal with some handmade Berry Cobbler. OMG to die for!

I barely tasted any added sugar.  Mostly just berries and the crumble on top with a bit of the ice cream.  (Would be a vegan dish, minus the ice cream.)  I'd like to try making this at home!

Thanks for the wonderful lunch Mom! I love you!

Dinner

Again, dinner was rushed.  We stopped by Subway and Marcel ordered the Italian BMT.  I ate about a 1/4 of this sandwich (since I really didn't even want a sandwich).  Seems like sandwiches are an easy solution when time crunched... need to think of something else (healthier) for those type of situations.

At the venue I sipped on a Yuengling, but didn't even drink a whole one (maybe 1/2?).  We played some pool and I knocked a few balls in.  Over the course of the evening I drank 2 bottles of water... and the bartender gave me a free Jägerbomb shotTHAT woke me up!!!  It has been months (maybe years?) since I drank one of those shots.

SHADOWSELF rockin' on stage!

Thanks to all my Facebook friends who commented on whether or not I should wear boots with a sundress in the Florida summer heat.

I took the plunge and wore them anyway.  Got a few compliments on my outfit, so I think it turned out to be pretty stylish!  Surprisingly several girls were wearing boots (with skirts or shorts) too.

Dress: Target
Boots: Slouchy Blue Suede, purchased online years ago
Cross-body Bag: Candies
Hair: By Kristy!

Healthy Habits

Nourishment
Fruits: 2 servings
Veggies: 3.5 servings
Water: 1 liter

Body Care
Body Brushing & Oil Pulling: check!
Sauna: I skipped the sauna and opted for a workout instead.  Maybe next week I'll get back to this healthy habit!
Exercise: Tempo 2.  Customized this and did a shorter version for the lower body since I was crunched on time.

Supplements
Alfalfa: 6 caps
B-12 Plus: 8 sprays

Au revoir!

P.S. Tonight we're having another (free) movie date night in Tampa, so I will try my best to get my blog on before bed.

Juicy Thursday

Well, here's another post of yesterday's eats...
need to get in the habit of posting the SAME day.

Workout/Exercise - Tempo Intermediate.

Literally as soon as I got home from work yesterday I put on my workout gear and pushed play on the DVD player.  The workout that came up was Tempo Intermediate (on the Tempo 2 DVD).  I was in the mood for something a bit different, so I went with it.  Man, that workout is tough!  I did (mostly) all the reps and finished the entire workout.

Nourishment
Fruits: 1.5 servings today.
Veggies: 6 servings today.
Water: Drank about 2 liters.

Supplements
Alfalfa: 6 caps

Need to restock my supplements!  I'm out of just about everything but my precious Alfalfa.

Eats

Brekkie

Pineapple Green Monster.

Looks neon green!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup frozen organic pineapple
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 2 cups fresh organic spinach
  • 1 cup original Almond Breeze
  • 1/4 cup Chobani 0% Plain yogurt

Um... well... at first this smoothie tasted yummy, but I think after the pineapple and  yogurt got to sit in the same cup together it sort of tasted spoiled??? I was not impressed.

And I drank about 1/4 of this iced coffee.  Guess it wasn't that appealing to me.

Lunch

Leftover tuna steak (didn't eat that much the night before), quinoa tabbouleh and organic sweet potato.

Dinner

Asian Lettuce Wraps!

I bought a lemon pepper rotisserie chicken, a bunch of veggies (organic red and green cabbage, green onions, carrots, garlic) and some organic chunky PB, plus a little organic soy sauce and this is what I created.  It was delish!

Snack

4 Organic Strawberries.

These were THE prettiest strawberries I've seen in a long time... and so juicy.

Au revoir!

Goodbye June...

{ clouds over Tampa Bay on June 18 ~ photo by me }

I'm baaaack! This month has been the lowest number of blog posts I've had in a looong time. Today was a good day! I got a massage with Margie first thing this morning. Picked up some of my healthy habits again. Ate pretty much all whole foods and I feel like I'm on the way back up. I did a few Basic Workouts, many a sets of Hoe Downs and applied some T-Tapp techniques throughout the day (shoulder rolls, curling my core, sitting and walking in alignment, etc, etc). I've been really needing more consistency with exercise this past month, but have been so busy. Anyway, I decided to do a 4-day boot camp using Tempo 2 (8 Reps). Today is day 2! A bit sore, but the massage helped a bunch.

A bit too much cheese and bacon for me, plus I'm not really down with the crispy Ramen topper. The Light Ranch dressing was delish! I ate about 1 Tbsp.

I just had to try these... Chocolate Lucky Charms with original Almond Breeze.

They were good, but not enough marshmallows and I prefer the regular ones anyway.

And this one too... gosh, guess I was hungry!

Can you tell that cheap-o cereals were BOGO @ the store?
