2010 T-Tapp Retreat: Day 4 & Trainer Certification Retreat

Bonjour! I'm still catching up on my posts, as you can see...  Above is another gorgeous sunrise over Tampa Bay I took on 10.10.10. (Just to think the next 10.10.10 will be on October 10th, 2110!)

First thing in the morning Teresa led a final Senior Fit workout and we finished measuring the event attendees shortly after.  Every year I am so amazed at how many inches everyone drops in a matter of one weekend, by pushing maximum form, learning and applying new techniques and tweaks... maybe a massage, reflexology session or steam time in the sauna.  Balancing relaxation and rest, plus hydration and quality eats with all the physical activity is important!

The Retreat workouts count as a Blitz type of Boot Camp; this is where you do 2-4 workouts per day (depending on the individual) for two days in a row and end with 1-2 final workouts on day three. You can choose to do as many or few workouts as you'd like. Sit in the back and take notes... T-Tapp Retreats are all about education!  Knowledge is power and everyone who attends really gets better with the mind to muscle connection (neuro-kinetic flow) and maintaining form too!

Top 5 Inch Loss Winners of the 2010 T-Tapp Retreat:
  1. Laurie Brooks - 31.25 inches
  2. Dawne Gordon - 22.50 inches
  3. Cryssanthe Detroyer - 19.25 inches
  4. Claudine Henry - 19 inches
  5. Stephanie Robinson - 18 inches

110 combined inches lost for the top 5 winners! Awesome!

In the photo, left to right: Laurie, Cryssanthe, and Claudine...

Congratulations ladies!

The other inch loss winners were not in the room for the announcement.

And I've even seen other Retreat attendees post on Facebook and the T-Tapp Forum about additional inch loss a week after they left Florida.  It's like residual results!

Teresa ended the 2010 T-Tapp Retreat with a Final Straight Through Workout that was a fusion of the other previous workouts done over the weekend.  We all said our goodbyes and parted ways (well, most of us), hoping to meet again soon at another fabulous T-Tapp event...

Our Annual T-Tapp Trainer Certification Retreat started at 4pm on Sunday, with the actual certification classes beginning on Monday morning and stretching through end of day on Tuesday.  During this event we have our trainers and trainers-in-training (TNTs) come in to teach the T-Tapp workout (Total Workout, T-Tapp MORE, Hit the Floor, and/or Ladybug) to be certified by Teresa Tapp to teach that workout in anywhere around the world.

Sunday, October 10th Eats

Brekkie

Starbucks Grande Nonfat Vanilla Latte, Fresh Fruit Cup, KIND Fruit & Nut Bar.

Forget the fruit and get an apple instead...

Lunch

Lauren and I had a window of free time and made it to Val & Matty's Wedding Party!

Asian Pasta, Scallops and Duck Quesadilla.

Plus one Bud Light beer.

I wish we had more time to hang out with our friends at the party, but we headed back to the Spa for the start of our Trainer Certification Retreat.

It was wonderful seeing the trainers again!  We're like one big happy family of sisters.  It's so fun to be with everyone, catch up, workout, learn new form techniques, eat fabulous food and drink!

Dinner

For dinner we headed over to the new pizzeria in town... Dominic's.  This place rocks!  We got a Mother-In-Law Pizza and it was fantastic.

The Mother-In-Law pizza... no sauce, mozzerella, cheddar and feta cheeses, tomato, spinach and garlic. YUM!  My new favorite pizza.

And I drank a Blue Moon when we got back to the spa.

Joan Schrader did another presentation for the trainers on magnesium oil and prill beads.  And a Trainer Only Meeting with Teresa followed that session, we wrapped things up before 11pm.

Trainer workouts started at 7am the following day, Monday the 11th.

When I locate my green robot flash drive with all my backed up photos I'll be able to finish up Monday, October 11th - Thursday, October 14th.

Au revoir!

The Annual T-Tapp Fitness Retreat was Fabulous!

I'm living at the beautiful Safety Harbor Resort & Spa for a whole week!  LOVE this place!

Safety Harbor Spa is the largest spa facility in the southern US -- the spa alone is about 40,000 square feet!  Located on Tampa Bay, the Spa has a great water view and downtown feel with shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance.  I'm working the T-Tapp Retreat, so I don't get spa time...but I do get to workout and enjoy the speakers!

I took almost 500 images with my boyfriend's Canon Rebel DSLR during the Retreat and can't wait to go through them.  (Everyone is calling me "Camera Casey" now!)  This event has been my favorite of them all.  They get better and better every year!  It was like a big T-Tapper reunion and we had some Retreat newbies too, with a lot of cutting edge health education on healing cancer naturally, hormones and the thyroid gland, the power of transdermal magnesium and prill beads, and how to be a beauty detective.  I learned some new things, probably lost a few inches and really had a genuinely great weekend!

I have SO much more to tell you about this fabulous Retreat.  Tonight our Trainer Certification Retreat began and we're getting ready to workout in the morning with Teresa, followed by a trainer teaching T-Tapp workouts every hour all day long.  Wishing good luck to all our Trainers!

Au revoir!

T-Tapp Fusion Workout

Catching up on Tuesday evening's post...

Exercise

After work I headed over to Jeanne's T-Tapp studio in Clearwater to T-Tapp with Kayla Howard and a bunch of local Tappers. Since I haven't worked out in a few days (since Friday, April 16, but who's keeping track?!)... so I knew the class was going to be a bit of a challenge. I did well and enjoyed the workout, but there are always more form tweaks for me to work on. Yes, even after doing T-Tapp for over a decade I'm always progressing towards my epic self. To me that's the beauty of T-Tapp. You have great, strong days and others where your body needs to slow things down and move at it's own pace. Especially after car accident #3, I still have (much) rehab to get through before my body is like it was before car accident #1... but I'm getting better with each workout!

Tonight's class was a modified Total Workout with a bit of floor work for the core. More workouts to come while Kayla's still in town!

Eats

Snack

Pre-workout I snacked on half of this Pro Bar and Organic Golden Delicious Apple.

Dinner

Once I got home I cooked up a few free-range grass-fed burgers in my wok. I use the wok for just about everything and don't think I could live without one!

1/2 toasted Ezekiel English Muffin topped with Organic Spicy Mustard, Organic Romaine, Purple Onion, Burger with A-1 Sauce, Seriously Sharp White Cheddar, and Tomato Slices... plus Broccoli with a little EVOO and BVI Seasoning.

Supplements

Alfalfa: 3 caps
B-12 Plus: 4 sprays
Pyruvyl Glycine: 8 sprays
Vitamin D3: 4 sprays

Water intake today: 2 liters

Veggies today: 5
Fruits today: 1.5

Au revoir!

P.S. Roxy loves broccoli!!!

Trainer Certs Recap: Day 2 & 3

Trainer Certs Recap, October 6th: Day 2

I stayed the night at the Spa and woke up early for the morning workout with Teresa. I did everything in the standing portion and skipped the floor work. I really need a mat and yoga wedge for the floor work, which I didn't have with me.

7:00am: baby gala apple, 1/2 ProBar

10:15am: breakfast burrito (eggs, veggies and cheese in a tomato wrap) with salsa and 1/2 avocado

This was SO yummy!

I caught a little segment of Teresa Tapp on Daytime TV during breakfast doing some foot fitness exercises. How cool is that?!

Charlotte Siems did her Total Workout certification this year and did a fantastic job!

Her family sent over some motivation for her...

Charlotte doing Thread the Needle.

After her certification with Teresa Tapp.
Yay Charlotte!

2:20pm: 1/2 free-range burger, bruschetta with pita, sweet potato fries

After lunch Dr. Carlson was doing another presentation for the Trainers, so instead of repeating that session we went to the Spa for an hour. In all the years that we've done Retreats at the Safety Harbor Spa I have never actually gotten a chance to enjoy the Spa! This was my first time ever. We went from the wet sauna to the cool pool and repeated a few times, then went back to our rooms to shower and get dressed for the evening.

8:00pm: potato crusted grouper with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans, salad with ranch

I went home that night to spend time with my honey and puppy. However, I really just ended up crashing on the couch and waking up earlier to get back to the Spa.

Trainer Certs Recap, October 7th: Day 3

It's the last day of our big week!

6:45am: Green Monster to go

Sadly my week at the Spa has come to an end. We had a breakfast buffet for the Trainers, which ended up being Miss America themed.

Yes, that's a real pageant crown!

9:40am: eggs, fresh fruit, 1 pancake with syrup, new potatoes with ketchup, cheese pastry, Starbucks grande nonfat vanilla latte (not pictured)

After breakfast we did a little photo shoot for all the newly certified Trainers.

Congratulations to all of our new Trainers!!!

From left to right: Isabell, Charlotte, Teresa Tapp, Jennifer K., Heather M.

Then we packed up the rest of our boxes of stuff, checked out of our rooms and met in the Spa restaurant for a T-Tapp staff lunch and Retreat review meeting.

2:40pm: angel hair pasta with shrimp and mussels, 2 slices of bread and butter, glass of pinot noir (not pictured)

x 2

3:10pm: hibiscus and champagne cocktail

That's a hibiscus flower on top. Divine!

Since we were finished with everything we all got to take the rest of the day off and headed home. Marcel found a way to get in free to movie premiers, so we went to Veterans 24 theater to see the new movie called Paranormal Activity. It was so freaky!!!

I didn't eat beforehand, which was a big mistake because I ended up eating this for dinner...

7:30pm: popcorn and orange soda

My tummy hurt afterward, so I drank lots of water and took some Alfalfa when we got home and then passed out.

Overall it was such a great week! I had so much fun at the Retreat and it was wonderful to catch up with everyone. Can't wait for next year's big event!

Trainer Certs Recap: Day 1

Trainer Certs Recap, October 5th: Day 1

It's my court date... butterflies in my tummy...

7:00am: 2 boiled eggs

This morning I had to appear in court at 8am in downtown Tampa. It took 10 minutes to get there and 20 to figure out where to park. Once we got into the court room I was told that the girl that hit me had already pleaded guilty. That was it! Wonder why they couldn't notify me of that and save me a trip downtown?

After that we came home and napped for a few hours before I headed back to the Spa. Retreats take a lot out of me. I'm not used to working such long days and running around (usually I sit at my desk for 8-9 hours).

Lunch at the Spa... Mediterranean grouper, slice of bread and butter

Caylee came to visit for lunch...

I did 2 workouts today
- Debby Jones' Total Workout class and Carol Heinrich's Ladybug class.

8:00pm: salad with a little balsamic dressing

8:40pm: chicken piccata, garlic leek mashed potatoes, green beans

This was the most amazing meal by far.

Dr. Stan Pierce did a presentation for the Trainers this evening. I learned a lot and he really opened my eyes. Dr. Pierce is a chiropractor that does a special technique called Advanced Orthogonal Chiropractic, which involves using customized percussion sound waves to adjust the atlas joint in the cervical spine. No manual manipulation or twisting, popping or cracking like standard chiropractic. The results are verified before and after the initial adjustment by an x-ray, so you can visually see the difference. The best part is that when your atlas is aligned the rest of your spine falls into place. It's all about maximizing brain to body communication. Dr. Pierce said that it can even correct scoliosis! I am definitely going to see him when I get some money saved up. Would love to feel better on a long-term basis!!!

My PG bit the dust! :(

Accident Update

This morning I contacted my attorney regarding the subpoena I received to appear in court for the trial of the girl that rear ended me in March. It just so happens that the court date is October 5th... right at the start of the T-Tapp Trainer Certification Event when Teresa is going to be teaching her all-in-one kick butt Retreat summary workout. I am so bummed that I'm going to miss that session!!!

It's a jury trial, which means that the girl pleaded "not guilty" to being drunk, driving and injuring me! I can not believe that she did that! It really upsets me that she's trying to get off charge free for a crime she DID commit. Plus the fact that she's wasting my time, energy and expenses to appear in court as a witness. AND everything that I've gone through since the accident: missed hours, gas miles, pain, rehabilitation, et cetera, et cetera. Of course I'm going to tell it like it is. The truth hurts. But it makes me so nervous to have to get up on a witness stand in a criminal courthouse!

When I had jury duty last year it was in the same location and I was chosen to be on the panel. It took 4 days for us to come to a decision on the case (was insurance related, but not this type of case). I'm really hoping that it doesn't take that long in this case because I'll miss the entire Certification Event!

I am SO upset.

Sorry about that little vent session!

5:50pm:
snacked on a few veggie chips on the drive home

That is one great photo! Kudos self.

6:40pm:
2 turkey tacos and side salad

After dinner I did the ENTIRE Tempo Lower Body DVD. OMG! I am going to be sore tomorrow. And I'm kind of hungry again too...

9:50pm: 1/2 cup organic plain lowfat yogurt with 1/4 cup Cascadian Farms Organic Maple Brown Sugar Granola

Mmm... that hit the spot.

Evening supplements:

Alfalfa: 3 caps
Jus: 1 ounce (at about 7pm)
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps

Water: 1 liter

Ok kids, I'm heading to bed.
