The Annual T-Tapp Fitness Retreat was Fabulous!

I'm living at the beautiful Safety Harbor Resort & Spa for a whole week!  LOVE this place!

Safety Harbor Spa is the largest spa facility in the southern US -- the spa alone is about 40,000 square feet!  Located on Tampa Bay, the Spa has a great water view and downtown feel with shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance.  I'm working the T-Tapp Retreat, so I don't get spa time...but I do get to workout and enjoy the speakers!

I took almost 500 images with my boyfriend's Canon Rebel DSLR during the Retreat and can't wait to go through them.  (Everyone is calling me "Camera Casey" now!)  This event has been my favorite of them all.  They get better and better every year!  It was like a big T-Tapper reunion and we had some Retreat newbies too, with a lot of cutting edge health education on healing cancer naturally, hormones and the thyroid gland, the power of transdermal magnesium and prill beads, and how to be a beauty detective.  I learned some new things, probably lost a few inches and really had a genuinely great weekend!

I have SO much more to tell you about this fabulous Retreat.  Tonight our Trainer Certification Retreat began and we're getting ready to workout in the morning with Teresa, followed by a trainer teaching T-Tapp workouts every hour all day long.  Wishing good luck to all our Trainers!

Strong Girl T-Tapp + Fresh Watermelon Green Smoothie

Bonjour!  This evening's exercise session was T-Tapp's Ladybug Workout - Standing, about a 40-minute routine.  Just me, my sneakers and ladybug towel, Teresa Tapp on my DVD player, a glass of alkaline water and some (magical) Pyruvyl Glycine... I felt like I broke a plateau tonight.  I was seriously doing some strong girl T-Tapp!  You know, activating all of your muscles, including those toes and core, for full fiber fitness.  I've done Ladybug before, but tonight was different... maybe it was the PG!  The Ladybug Workout already takes muscle activation to a new level, building upon the original T-Tapp Total Workout form, and increases lymphatic and neuro-kinetic flow even more.

Last year to date, almost exactly, T-Tapp Trainer Lani Muelrath sent out her FitDream Ezine (Thanks for archiving your newsletters, Lani!) with a testimonial from one of her clients about her thoughts between what she calls "lazy girl T-Tapp" and "strong girl T-Tapp".  Here's the full article on Lani's site: http://thetruthaboutfatlossforwomen.com/2009/09/27/strong-girl-t-tapp

I'm feeling SO much better after my workout!  Next time I'll try to do the entire Ladybug Workout Combo, which includes Standing (40 minutes) and Floor (26 minutes).  The combination is even more intense and focuses on hormonal balance (and release) as well as targeting rib to knee... also known as the "ladybug" area!

Eats

Brekkie

Green Smoothie:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • A few fresh watermelon chunks
  • 2 cups fresh organic spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • bee pollen and a little honey

Lunch

2 Scrambled Eggs with Organic Romaine and Tomatoes.

Cup of Pacific Organic Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup.

Actually the soup made my tummy ache... and that brand and flavor usually doesn't.  I only ate about half of what you see here.  Not sure if it was the acidity of the tomato or that the soup was "off".

So shortly after lunch I ended up snacking on some Granola.

Dinner on the Cheap

Red Beans, Brown Rice, Broccoli, Jalapeno, Garlic, Green Onion, Cheddar and Sour Cream.

Snack

Spoonfuls of Fresh Peanut Butter and Local Summer Honey.

...what I really want is chocolate...

Foodie In Motion Launch!

I've been dreaming, brainstorming, and debating for months now on what direction to take this blog, T-Tapp Into Fitness. I love that this blog has been active for 7 years! It shows my history, how much I've grown and changed my ways. Back in 2004 I was eating so much more junk!

People think I blog for the T-Tapp company, but I really just love having this blog as a personal outlet for me to stay motivated and on track with my workouts, healthy habits and creating wellness.  I am a foodie in motion... always balancing my eats with my fitness.

I purchased a new shiny domain name that encompasses my love of fitness and food: FoodieInMotion.com. This blog is transitioning into a new chapter with special features and a redefined focus.  If you haven't noticed, I've already switched to this domain

I considered launching this new project in a fresh blog of its own and keeping T-Tapp Into Fitness as a monument to my blogging history, but then I'd end up rebuilding a lot of the same stuff. In the marketing blog world I read about how switching to a new domain name on an already established Blogger.com blog can mess with the statistics and indexing of the entire site.  With that said, I'm taking the plunge by keeping my existing blog and just switched the domain to FoodieInMotion.com.

Changes I've been thinking about:
  • Not sure if I will continue to post photos of my daily eats or not. Over this past year it's really helped me to see when I needed to improve my eating. It also is very time consuming when it comes to photo editing on my outdated laptop.  However, I may decide to upload all food photos to my Flicker Photostream instead of doing the daily post... or I may do both!  This may result in posts that spotlight new recipes I made during that week.  The only issue I have with this is I need at least 1 photo per post for visual appeal.
  • The recipe section is something I want to build up with beautiful photographs that are appetizing to my readers. I plan on coming up with a few of my own in addition to recipe reviews.
  • Refocus on movement. I want my readers to learn about the T-Tapp program, because it is the most phenomenal exercise program I've discovered. The T-Tapp techniques can be applied to all forms of exercise to increase overall results, hold the body in proper alignment and prevent injury. T-Tapp is powerful on its own. I love movement and exercise. Yet I find myself wanting to learn and soak up as much as I possibly can when it comes to exercise and fitness. Yoga is at the top of my list for other workouts to try, but I'd also like to explore Pilates and add in a more core-building exercises to my routine.
  • More articles written about health, wellness, fitness and foods.

I hope you enjoy my blog and the new features coming your way.  Send some love and leave a comment.

Oh, Healthy Habits

Well, during the past two weeks my posts and healthy habits have sort of gone out the window. My life has been absolutely slammed packed with other things needing my attention. I have been drinking my water, but really that's the only thing I've been able to keep up with in this chaos. I started the T-Tapp 60-Day Challenge on Friday, May 7th and have yet to squeeze in a workout AND I haven't had a green smoothie since April 28th!

I'm thinking that once I get settled down a bit more this week I can resume most of these. Believe me, my body is missing out!

Healthy Habits I'm still working on:
  • Avoiding Alcohol/Coffee/Sweets + Clean Eating: Aiming for eating more organic minimally processed foods
  • Exercise: Aiming for 3 full workouts per week
  • Sleep: Aiming for 8 hours of sleep per day: bed by 10pm, wake by 6am
  • Salt Soaks: Aiming for 2 times per week

Mastered Healthy Habits:
  • Body & Face Brushing (daily)
  • Far Infrared Sauna (once a week)
  • Oil Pulling (daily)
  • Water (2 liters a day)
