Happy Drink Wine Day!

I just discovered that February 18th is National Drink Wine Day. How cool is that?!

Here are
6 Reasons to Drink Wine... as if we needed a reason! I will be celebrating this holiday tonight either with co-workers or my honey.

From Dr. Perricone's Blog: Salut!
Red wine contains a powerful heart-healthy, anti-cancer, anti-aging antioxidant called resveratrol. It also appears that resveratrol helps protect the skin against the sun’s UV radiation. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes have the highest concentration of antioxidants. Just be sure to keep it to one glass, and have your wine with a meal to mitigate the inflammatory effects of alcohol.

Cheers!

Breakfast for Dinner

I actually woke up in time this morning to do Basic Plus Tempo. Gotta say that I love that little routine. Even though my back was super stiff when I started, I felt a whole lot better after the 18 minutes of T-Tapp exercise. Then I body brushed and got ready for work.

8:20am: Purple Monster

  • organic blueberries
  • fresh banana
  • fresh spinach
  • organic flax seeds
  • original Almond Breeze
  • scoop of organic peanut butter

I love the peanut butter in this! So good.

8:30am: coffee with original Almond Breeze/a little sugar

11:10am: Bay Coast iced medium nonfat vanilla latte

Next time I will skip the vanilla syrup... way too sweet!

1:00pm: leftover beans and rice (same ingredients as last night)

Afternoon Supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps

I keep forgetting my supplements at home!

I'm excited to start Lani's T'appy Holidays! Just for the fact that it's all about trying to do your best with consistency on taking care of yourself with daily movement, brushing and healthy eating. I already try to do all of that, but T'appy Holidays will keep me even more accountable than my little blog. Just for the fact of all the support and involvement with other T-Tappers... it's going to be great!

We had more trick-or-treaters come by the office today! Here's little Caylee...

Isn't she cute?! Love the Ladybug costume.

4:10pm: organic gala apple

4:50pm: chocolate mint

Hey, I avoided all the Halloween candy at least.

I came home to this beautiful box...

I got the new Jus!

This is the new formula too. It's more potent, but even better for you. More on this later...

7:45pm: 2 scrambled eggs with Cabot 50% reduced fat cheddar, spinach and 2 slices of Ezekiel bread with a little butter

I was looking back on my blog today. Can't believe that I started this blog in 2003! Six years later... here I am. It's neat to see how the blog has evolved over the years. My very first posts were very to the point without any photos or exciting stuff. Years 2005 and 2006 were scarce with posts (not really sure why now), but I really started putting in a lot more effort in 2007.

Day Before the Retreat

The day before the Annual T-Tapp Retreat here in Safety Harbor means we're really slamming to get everything ready and still complete our regular job duties.

I rushed out of the house this morning and it finally feels like Fall!!! The weather is gorgeous. I can wear a scarf!

I'm out of Green Monster ingredients. :(

8:00am: Kashi Honey Sunshine with original Almond Breeze, shot of Jus (not pictured)

I had to run out of the office for my annual exam today. I love my doctor! She makes these daunting appointments so care-free and easy. I even got some free samples and discounts for birth control. Yay! Everything is a-ok.

On my way back to the office I decided to stop at one of my favorite health food stores, Nature's Food Patch, in Clearwater to pick up some lunch. I rarely make it to this part of town, but used to live in the area and really do miss this store. They had an amazing amount of delicious packaged meals to go in the Bunny Hop Cafe, so I picked up a few of my favorites.

  1. Tabouli
  2. Chickpea and Feta Salad
  3. Roasted Sweet Potatoes
YUM! Can't wait to eat them.

12:30pm: California Surprise wrap

Well worth the price!

I ate the whole thing!

After lunch I drove to Tampa Airport to pick up Kitty, our publicist. I am so happy that she's here! It's been too long since we've all been together at a T-Tapp event.

Me & Kitty
Washington, DC - Circa 2002

Kitty, don't kill me for posting this photo!!!

4:15pm: Starbucks iced grande nonfat vanilla latte (bad girl)

Note to self: bring Jus to work and skip the coffee!

I got home and opened up my first Jus order!!!

Enough Jus Gel Packs for all T-Tapp Retreat attendees. :)

Aren't they cute?!

8:00pm: all of the Roasted Sweet Potatoes, 1/2 the Chickpea and Feta Salad, most of the Tabouli, Jus Gel Pack

Roxy went nuts when I broke out these foods, so I gave her a few sweet potatoes, a couple chickpeas and some tabouli. She will not leave me alone now!!! Guess she wants more. Such a veggie dog!

Today has been so long and stressful for me. I'm really trying to relax and unwind, but I have SO much to do. I still have to pack my suitcase! Plus send an email newsletter, finish the Raffle for Research paperwork, pick up the Ladybug Wine from Publix Greenwise Market, package up my Jus Gel Pack samples with the paperwork for the Goody Bags, clean up the kitchen, wash and dry my hair, do Primary Back Stretch, body brush, give myself a pedicure, figure out what I am going to wear tomorrow (the whole Retreat is filmed and that means me too!!!) and spend time with my honey.

Think I can do it all tonight? *shakes head* Me either. I have to get off the computer! :)

I will be posting daily updates from my experience at the Retreat this week, so stay tuned!

Green Monster To Go + Jus Tasting Party

My neck and back were sore this morning, so I did Primary Back Stretch and body brushed.

8:25am: Spriu-tein Vanilla Green Monster to go

Morning supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps

I have my appointments this afternoon. Then planned on meeting up with my dad just to say hi and catch up for a bit since I'll be near his office. After that at 7pm there's a Jus Taste Party at Back N' Balance. I'm going to try to make it, but may not. It's my workout day and if I don't get home at a reasonable time I may not exercise for very long or at all.

12:10pm: 2 boiled eggs with sea salt and salad (romaine, carrots, onion, a little cheese, sunflower seeds)

Afternoon supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
B-12: 4 sprays
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps

After my appointments I met my dad in Dunedin at Kelly's Chic-a-boom Room. I opted not to drink since I can't stand drinking and driving. But I was SO tired!!!

5:30pm: 2 cups of hot coffee with cream/sugar

Coffee doesn't do much for me anymore. Sorry no photo.

6:30pm: Cajun grouper sandwich, a little cole slaw

Dad ate the pickle.

I headed over to the Jus Tasting Party after dinner since I was still in Dunedin. Just a few people came, but hey I can't turn down free Jus! Love the stuff. :)

I learned some new things about Jus...

  1. Most of the ingredients are wild or organic. They also take the Jus through so many different testings to ensure that there are no pesticides, herbicides or insecticides in any of the ingredients.
  2. They are changing the formula of Jus starting October 1st to include Resveratrol and make the ORAC values more even across the board. The new ORAC value for the new formula is 6400, which still blows all other comparable products out of the water. Resveratrol is only highly absorbed through the mouth. (Taken in a pill form is only partially assimilated -- just like everything else, liquid form is always better!)
  3. There are different ways to measure antioxidant levels. ORAC is just one of the tests and it measures the Peroxyl free radical. There is also a HORAC test to measure Hydroxyl, NORAC test to measure Peroxynitrite, SORAC test to measure Superoxide Anion and SOAC test to measure Singlet Oxygen. Jus testing on all of these scales still has much higher antioxidant levels than all major competitors. Will do a separate post on this later because it is really interesting to me!
  4. I love the Jus gel packs!!! Finally got to taste them for the first time and you know what... they're great! The taste is not as potent as the regular Jus and you just eat the gel right out of the packet. They would be great for runners to take for extra energy on long runs, travelers to take on trips and for anyone to carry in their purse or pocket to have some Jus power on the go.
I really felt the Jus zing! Normally I take 1 ounce Jus in the morning. Tonight I had 1 ounce of Jus and 1 Jus gel pack and I really felt the energy boost zing right away. It was amazing. I am going to LOVE taking this stuff before long T-Tapp workouts at the Retreat this week!

SO I never got that workout in today. It's late. Oh well... at least I got in my morning stretch and brushing!

Jus: Dream in Color

Ever since my massage therapist introduced me to Jus I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of. Jus is composed of 23 superfoods and has an amazingly high ORAC value.

I take 1 ounce of Jus a day (sometimes more if I feel like I need it) and can really tell a difference in energy levels and quicker healing. Plus, I have no more dark circles under my eyes!

1 ounce of Jus a day to keep the doctor away!

The best part is that it tastes good! With other types of juices, like Noni and Mangosteen, I really had to try to get used to them. Not with Jus! It was love at first taste. ♥ Everyone I have given a sample to loves it as well.

This comparison chart says so much about Jus!

I was able to attend a Jus Meeting in Clearwater last month. Meeting the people involved was wonderful. They are all full of energy, friendly and helpful. I learned a lot at that meeting and it really inspired me to want to join Jus International as an Independent Business Owner (IBO).

Check out this video to learn more about the power of Jus.

Dream in Color from Jus International on Vimeo.

Yesterday, with the help of Lauren, I signed up! We ordered enough of the 1 ounce gel samples for everyone to try at the T-Tapp Fitness Retreat next week. I'm so excited to share this amazing product with others, especially T-Tappers! Jus will help us power through the many workouts we do next weekend.

I am the type of person that doesn't talk about or promote products that I don't believe in. That's one of the reasons why I've been working at T-Tapp for over 10 years. I highly value the product, have felt the results personally and believe in sharing the wealth of knowledge with others. The same goes for Jus. This is great stuff!

If you're interested in learning more check out my Jus page, comment on my blog or email me directly at casey@t-tapp.com anytime!

JOURNAL

I went to the Jus meeting in Clearwater this morning at 10am. Deborah, my massage therapist, was already there. I met Tom, who is the one that brought Jus to Florida earlier this year. Then we went in for the meeting/presentation. Read more here: Jus Meeting

Afterward, Deborah took me out to lunch at Mama Fu's. Thanks Deb! I haven't been there in a while. My salad was delish and I ate it with chop sticks. Next time I'll ask for the dressing on the side though. I'm not a big dressing person. I like veggies as they are naturally.

Home for some computer time in this bloggy blog world! I need to get outside and enjoy the sunshine... however, it's about 97-degrees today. Hot, hot, hot! Going to take the puppy for a little walk.

Planning a workout this afternoon... maybe back to Ladybug Workout or Tempo Lower Body. I need floor work.

I made that spiffy new calendar this afternoon in Photoshop. How pretty! I have a busy month ahead of me. I'm going to try my best to stick to an every other day (EOD, as we say at T-Tapp) full workout schedule.

A T-Tapp "full" workout consists of doing a routine that's 30+ minutes in length. All T-Tapp workouts involve the entire body, but some have a focus on a certain area or benefit. The Ladybug Workout focuses on waist to knee while also helping the body naturally balance hormones. Tempo Lower Body is obviously for the lower body (waist to knee), but has different moves and sequencing than the Ladybug Workout. Both routines are 60+ minutes split into standing and floor segments with either half being a full workout. Most of these variety workouts are for those who know and can do the entire Total Workout, which is the original program.

Go here for a full listing of all single T-Tapp workouts: http://www.t-tapp.com/products/T-TappWorkouts.html

Ok... done with my killer workout! I ended up doing ALL of Maxi Max #1 (with the newer form tweaks, of course). My remote for the TV in the bedroom needs to be programed; it stopped working after we moved. I was going to do Tempo Lower Body, but the main menu has you select the standing, floor, combination of the two or form tips. The only section I can get to without the remote is standing, so that didn't work for me. I really wanted floor work today! Maxi Max #1 is more advanced than Tempo Lower Body because it still has almost everything from the Total Workout standing and the entire crunch sequence on the floor. It's a cardio-kinetic total body workout with a focus on the lower half. I was dripping... again... by speed skaters this time. I really love the pace of this workout -- no fuss, just get it done.

Now it's time to cool down, make some dinner and relax. Turkey tacos on the menu again...

My yummy LaCroix Berry Vodka cocktail

Taco Toppings: Romain, Green Pepper, Cilantro, Red Onion, Garlic, Seriously Sharp White Cheddar

Marcel's ingenious idea for baking taco shells... stand them up!
They come out crispy and still open for stuffing.

My Taco Salad

Mmm... I cleaned my plate. Yum!

Watching more Twin Peaks tonight! This show has so many strange twists and turns. I love it!

Jus Meeting

Just drink the Jus!

I went to the Jus meeting in Clearwater this morning at 10am. Deborah, my massage therapist, was already there. I met Tom, who is the one that brought Jus to Florida earlier this year. Then we went in for the meeting/presentation. I get a good feeling from this company and the people representing them. Jus launched late 2008 and is a brand new business concept with a one-of-a-kind product. The meeting was high energy and presentation was done very well. They even had a raffle for swag and a paid ticket to the Jus Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I love Utah! It is so beautiful out there. I've been twice and both times were the only times I ever experienced snow. Once I event attempted to snowboard. Total disaster! Hey... Florida girls usually don't know about snow. We're surrounded by water in paradise! I'm born and raise... but have been lucky enough to travel out-of-state a bunch of times. I love travel too. The mountains surrounding Salt Lake are beautiful!

The last time I was in Utah, Jeanne and I flew out to train the Tahitian Noni call center on T-Tapp. They were including our 15-minutes Basic Workout Plus in a women's wellness package. That was a fun trip, but it was cold!!! I saw snow fall from the sky for the first time ever on that trip. We had a great time and didn't want to leave.

Back to the Jus... Here are some that intrigued me:

  • Anyone can do this! There were a few young kids in that meeting with their families, ranging from 10-18 years old. There were also some older adults, probably 70+ years old. I thought that was really interesting.
  • Jus tries to make this fun. They say it's not easy money because you do work for it and make your own connections and relationships with people. But this is something you do in whatever business you're going into.
  • You build your own business, and can be profitable while helping others get healthy. It's about sharing the wealth of health.
  • Jus outshines antioxidant levels of all other superfood-derived juices on the market. The comparison is a no-brainer.
  • The people backing this company have incredible amounts of experience in this industry and business building.
  • I'm actually considering starting my own Jus business. I've never done anything like this before in my life, but I really love this product and get a good feeling about the company as a whole. From their site: A Jus Independent Business Owner is anyone or any legal entity that enters into an IBO agreement with Jus international. There is an initial $35 sign up fee which enables the IBO to receive product at wholesale prices and allows the IBO to recruit and sign up other IBOs as part of the Jus business opportunity. As an IBO builds his or her business organization, he or she is able to receive commissions as part of the Jus compensation plan.

Here's a Jus videos you can watch to learn more about this incredible product.

I'm going to have an extra shot of Jus today!

I overslept this morning while having some vivid dreams. Guess I needed the extra rest. I've been having these killer dizzy headaches again... not fun. No idea why either???

I feel so much better after my appointments this afternoon. It really does make a difference.

Happy Wednesday! We're almost to Friday. Plans for the weekend?

Friday night I'm hanging out with Lolly and Caroline in Safety Harbor for the evening. Then on Saturday I'm going to a Jus meeting in Clearwater to get the inside scoop on what it's all about. Jus is a superfood juice that has an ORAC value of 8687!!!

That is unheard of. It tastes great too!

And Sunday... probably relaxing and enjoying the day. Ah, the weekends...

Off to watch Roswell. Good night!

JOURNAL

I picked up a BIG bottle of Jus yesterday! It's in a pretty blue glass bottle (little bottles are blue plastic), which is much better for the product. I have to say that I really like this stuff. It gives me a zing without the caffeine or bad stuff.

I almost skipped my stretch this morning, but I'm so glad that I did it. PBS is a back saver , mood lifter and it really makes me feel wonderful overall. I'm starting to feel stronger already.

I am getting more and more addicted to the Twilight series. New Moon is hard to put down... I'm almost finished!

Dinner turned out fantastic. I love those black bean burgers. Tomorrow they will make a nice and healthy Ezekiel wrap. Yum.

So, for some reason I have a really dizzy headache tonight and I'm not sure why, but it's not a fun way to end this beautiful day.

The Power of Jus!

I have to say this product is the most antioxidant rich supplement I have ever heard of. Packaged in a beautiful blue bottle, one shot a day gives you and ORAC value higher than all other power "juice" products on the market!

Normally I don't do these type of bottled power juices frequently. This one is not bad in flavor at all! I have to take it with breakfast. Energy levels definitely improved shortly after. It will also help accelerate the healing process and is anti-aging. Can't go wrong there!

Here's some of the info from their site...

A symphonic blend of 23 of the worlds most powerful superfoods

Scientists and nutritionists agree that consuming vibrant natural foods, in all the colors of the rainbow, is one of the most powerful nutrition strategies. One "magic fruit" can't be everything to everyone. Jus combines 23 of nature's superfoods from all over the earth which, due to respective climates and geology, contain unique levels and types of antioxidants as well as other health-improving compounds. Just as a full ensemble of expert musicians is exponentially more powerful in sound than a flute soloist, a symphony of powerful berries and herbs stack synergistically to provide the body with the balance and tools it needs to counteract a wide variety of health problems.

Greater than the sum of its parts.

When antioxidant pigments are combined, their benefits overlap and provide superior protection. The RIGHT combination of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients have been shown to positively affect the body's health at a far greater rate than consuming them individually. Strong and diverse, antioxidants combine with naturally-occurring vitamins, proteins, trace minerals and other health-improving compounds. By drinking Jus, we're confident you'll feel the powerful effects of its proprietary blend of berries, fruits and herbs.

Jus has an extremely high ORAC score for the simple reason that its ingredients naturally provide many of the vitamins, minerals and compounds necessary for the body to function at optimum efficiency. Jus does not artificially inflate ORAC scores through artificial additives or synthetic vitamins. We let nature do it's job.
