Morning Workout + Massage

I had a workout and massage with Margie this morning! Feeling fabulous right now.

Workout

T-Tapp MORE + body brushing.

Food Log

Brekkie

2 Scrambled Eggs with Lowfat Mozzarella, Green Pepper, Onion, Fresh Tomato and Avocado.

I was in a rush and ate my brekkie on the go!

Margie stopped by Starbucks and picked up a Tall Nonfat Vanilla Latte for me.

Bad free Starbucks that tastes so good.

Lunch

Turkey Meatballs and Spinach Salad.

I really just ate all the veggies on top - minus mushrooms (don't like 'em fresh) and radishes - plus a little spinach.

Supplements

Alfalfa: 4 caps
B-12 Plus: 4 sprays
nutraMetrix® Glucosatrin Bone & Joint Formula: 2 caps
nutraMetrix® Isotonix Calcium Complete: 1 serving

Water intake: 1 liter

Morning Workouts

Morning workouts are always challenging for me because I'm not a morning person. Last year I did a 10-day Night Owl to Early Bird Challenge that was somewhat successful - just bad timing right around daylight savings. Oops! My body doesn't like to move first thing, but when I can knock out a killer workout before starting my day I feel better and more energized all day long.

Workout

Tempo 2 + body brushing.

I did pretty well again with Tempo 2 this morning. Balance Sequence and Thread the Needle were harder today. Actually got up with enough time to complete my morning workout, but ended up being just a few minutes late to the office. Need to get up about 15-25 minutes earlier next time.

2 sets of Hoe Downs after lunch.

Food Log

Brekkie

2 Scrambled Eggs, Fresh Tomato and Spinach, 2 Slices of Extra Sharp Cheddar.

Snack

Organic Baby Gala Apple.

Lunch

Ban Thai Coconut Chicken Soup.

Supplements

Alfalfa: 4 caps
B-12 Plus: 4 sprays
Cellfood: 8 drops
Jus: 1 ounce
nutraMetrix® Isotonix® Calcium Complete: 1 serving
nutraMetrix® Glucosatrin® Bone & Joint Formula: 2 caps

Water intake: 1 liter

I'm looking forward to opening a special bottle of wine tonight in honor of National Drink Wine Day.

Until tonight!

Also, have not been feeling well at all, so that could be part of the problem. My body is full of inflammation right now from my injury and it's that time of the month... double whammy!

T'appy Holidays tallied up:
  • 395 Points
  • Muse Status
  • Lost ZERO inches

I am disappointed in my lack of results this week. I was doing SO well! I totally self-sabotaged myself without meaning to. I have been hurting a lot more this week and maybe that's why I gave myself more free rein to relax, do (or not do), eat and drink what and when I wanted to. Looking back over this week I can see where I need to improve.

I need to focus on...
  • Drinking more alkaline water (I miss Coral water!)
  • Taking ALL supplements daily
  • Limiting sweets to once/week (skip the dessert in general and also sugar/syrup in coffee and lattes)
  • Preparing all meals at home (skip the processed and junk foods all together)
  • Limiting alcoholic drinks to ONLY wine once or twice/week (beer does not do my body good)
  • T-Tapping daily, no matter what (even if it's just a 10-15 minute routine)
  • Body brushing daily, no matter what (no excuses, it takes less than 5 minutes)
  • Getting an early start and knocking out all of these things BEFORE heading to work
  • Avoiding late night snacking (if I do need to snack, then it has to be something with veggies)

That's a BIG checklist of to-dos for this week! I better get started.

I did pretty darn good for my first week of this challenge. The only area where I need to improve is veggies. Getting in 6 servings per day is a lot for me! Eating more veggies does make me feel a lot better overall though. Lani said that a shot of Jus could count towards my veggies since it's equivalent to eating about 13 fruits and veggies due to the high antioxidant levels. Next week I'm going to try to step it up and get more fresh veggies in each day. I want to achieve Goddess status!

T’appy Holidays 2009 – Fun! Fitness! Prizes!

Head T-Tapp Trainer Lani Muelrath is starting her T'appy Holidays again this year! I'm joining in the fun.

Here are the basics...

T’appy Holidays!!!

November 1 – December 26, 2009
Back again this year by popular demand!

T’appy Holidays is a way to:

  1. stay connected,
  2. motivated,
  3. consistent, in a
  4. supportive environment, by associating with countless others aspiring in the same direction as you through the next eight weeks

Join others staying active, T-Tapping, eating smart, and body-brushing their way happily and healthily through the holiday season.

Just to make it easy…

There’s a spreadsheet to download (see below), and we can have some fun with that, too (see that information below as well!)

Here are the components:

exercise

1. Daily Activity: Over the course of each week, we will aspire to

  • 1 Total T-Tapp Workout (or its equivalent)
  • 2 Basic Workout + (15 minutes fitness)
  • 3 free choice activities: lots of alternatives, including walking! Just make sure it challenges your fitness and breaks you a sweat

For example, another T-Tapp workout, challenging yoga, a fitness class, a bike ride or a spin on the ice pond with skates would count; a sauna wouldn’t . Even though it would be a highly beneficial and recommended addition. On the spreadsheet, you’ll see other T-Tapp workout options listed; yet with so much room for free choice workouts, you can feel free to mix it up with other favorites as you wish.

  • and 30 minutes of floor – core challenges weekly. Lots of combinations can get you there! This can also be spread out through the course of the week. For example, you could do Lani’s Torso Trimming Series 2 – 3 times during the course of the week and they would fulfill the “floor-core” portion of the program . Or, you could do Pretzel daily for the week.

The idea is to stay active through the holidays and to take advantage of the beauty of the time savings of the T-Tapp Workout as a solid base, even if you integrate other types of exercise into your routine. Have fun, enjoy what you do, enjoy what you eat…you get the idea.

2. Daily Gusto Brekkie: Enjoy quality, fiber-rich natural foods for breakfast to give you satiety and sustained energy.

Old fashioned oatmeal, steel cut or whole oats; creamy brown rice; muesli; or sprouted whole grain bread with fruit are easy-to-prepare choices. No skipping your break-of-fast for the default fliple-tripped mochachino mid-morning or afternoon!

vegetablesmixed

3. Daily veggies: (6 servings). A serving is 1/2 cup of steamed veggies/1 cup greens, give or take. You can create it in endless fashion: a salad at dinner with some steamed veggies, salad or soup at lunch, some crudites in between, and you’re there!

You’ll be surprised how much better you’ll feel and how much easier it will be to stay trim – and how much better your biochemistry/acid-alkaline balance as well as elimination – will feel with lots of high water content veggies.

Legumes, potatoes, are plants, though higher in protein and starch so though you do want a plant-based diet, and legumes and beans are central to a healthy diet, they do not constitute the base of the 6 servings. If they did, then everyone pounding down their french fries would be high on points, right?

Colorful, high water content plants are what is meant by veggies for our purposes, then. Legumes will count if you sprout them, because then they become a high water content, living plant! Don’t get me wrong, you can eat beans and legumes with gusto.

ur start.

brushing

4. Daily Skin Brushing:

Implement the T-Tapp brushing sequence for optimal results; or simply get a body brush and BRUSH! You’ll feel lighter, brighter, refreshed and bright-eyed.

Each item for each day is listed on the spread sheet and is given a point value. There are maximums for each day in each category, to encourage regular practice of these good habits AND to discourage over-exercising to get more points! Finding loopholes is forbidden!

Each week has a potential total of 490 points; if you get ALL of them for the week, you get 10 bonus points for a nice round 500 for the week. For 8 weeks, starting November 1st. We’ll keep it simple, but fun.

Start planning and gearing up now for the fittest and most fun Tappin’ Holiday season ever!

Celebrate with others each week as you attain – just for fun – the status of:

Goddess: 500 pts for the week

Diva: 425 – 499 for the week

Muse: 375 – 424 for the week

Flirt: <375> for the week

Each week, keep track of your points on the spreadsheet. Report in at the T-Tapp Forums with your level of “expertise” each week. One week you might be a “diva”, another week a “muse”…or maybe even goddess! And if nothing else join us as a “flirt”.

Just come in and talk about it! One of the most powerful keys to success is getting support. It’s right there for the taking – and giving.

A Morning Workout

This morning I did Basic Plus Tempo. My body was so stiff it was difficult to push my form. Just another sign that I can't go several days without a little T-Tapp!

I also body brushed before getting ready.

8:10am: 2 scrambled eggs with veggies, sliced avocado, 12 grain English Muffin

Morning Supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
Blue-Green Algae: 2 caps
Cellfood: 8 drops
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps
Wobenzym: 3 caps

Water: 0.5 liter

12:10pm: leftovers - salad with rotisserie chicken, fresh and dried berries and walnuts and reduced fat basil and tomato feta, Cheesy Shrimp Enchilada Bake

I ate about 1/2 of this.

Afternoon Supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
Blue-Green Algae: 2 caps
Cellfood: 8 drops
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps
Wobenzym: 3 caps

Water: 0.5 liter

4:05pm: small organic gala apple, 1 boiled egg

7:00pm: slice of seriously sharp cheddar cheese

7:20pm: mashed sweet potatoes with a little butter and cinnamon

7:45pm: Spicy Thai Soup With Lime Shrimp

I literally ate about a quarter of this. Was already full from the sweet potatoes.

Please see my recipe review post for this one...

I spent the evening cleaning the apartment. What fun! Marcel had band practice, so I finally had some time to get things done. It's almost presentable. Have a little more cleaning to take care of and some laundry to do this weekend. Then I'll feel better. When my place is a mess, I can't focus on anything but that.

Feeling like a Daybreak Diva!

Sometimes I amaze myself... I'm feeling like a Daybreak Diva! (i.e. Those who wake up super early and go to the T-Tapp class that starts at 6am at Jeanne's studio. I normally can't get myself out of bed.) I got up at 6am on the dot before the sun, took the puppy out and started my T-Tapp workout! I've really been wanting to get in some floor work, so I decided on Maxi Max #1. Unfortunately, our main DVD player just broke, so I played the DVD on my laptop and linked that to the TV. It worked out great until Pretzel Twist when the DVD started skipping. I have to get a new one! I finished up the workout from memory. Might switch over to Tempo Lower Body next time.

It felt good to get my workout in early today. I've basically taken about 5 days off since my last full workout (Ladybug Standing on the 15th). The Retreat is so close and I want to be in shape! I can feel a difference in my body already, but my clothes aren't fitting that differently yet. I did sneak in measurements last Thursday the 17th (one week from last time) and lost another ½ inch off my abs (back to normal after TOM) and ½ inch off my hips!!! My goal is to lose another 3 inches off my hips and 2 off my thighs, plus tighten and tone everything even more. So far I feel tighter, a bit more toned and have lost some inches. I'm on the right track!

8:00am: 8oz Fresh Organic Beet, Carrot, Apple Juice, 2 scrambled eggs with green peppers, seriously sharp cheddar and slice of maple bacon

That's the last piece of bacon I'm going to see for a long time. AND I'm going to try really hard to stay away from those delicious cookies I baked last night.

After breakie I body brushed, showered and got ready for work... I was right on time!

Morning supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
B-12: 3 sprays
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps
Pyruvyl Glycine: 4 sprays

Water: 1 liter

12:20pm: Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup (whole can minus the noodles)

After that pasta dinner last night, I'm not in the mood for more pasta. I prefer whole wheat pasta now anyway. Would be nice to make my own version of this soup with whole grains, rotisserie chicken and tons of veggies.

Afternoon supplements:
Alfalfa: 3 caps
B-12: 3 sprays
Priority Women's Complete Multi: 2 caps
Pyruvyl Glycine: 4 sprays

2:00pm: Kashi Honey Sunshine

It's like a 100-calorie snack pack, but better for you. Get your free sample here!

6:15pm: 2 cookies (yikes!)

Cookie #1

Cookie #2

7:00pm: tuna steak, pearled garlic cous cous, spinach, LaCroix Lime

Yum.

I keep feeling like I have to do something, but I don't because I did it all this morning. Amazing! Off to watch some Netflix and go to bed.
